I simply believe in ignorance. Which is funny because church folk never learn from their mistakes if Jesus keeps forgiving them all the time.
Plus, he never rectifies the consequences of their sins. Jesus forgives the guy that broke his girlfriend’s nose, but does nothing to fix her nose.

No one is a sinner, the church is a liar, my brothers and sisters are never sinner, no matter what they do. Freewill states; we are allowed to choose lower or higher thoughts and actions. Religion is a falsehood, for Our Father never commands. To command is to take away freewill. This gigantic cell we call the universe, automatically equalizes itself, via, what you send out returns to you. What do you think of my idea for a story?
The genre is fantasy, but it’s not a kids book and it doesn’t involve some flimsy love triangle between a human, vampire and werewolf. It’s aimed more at teens as the feel I’m going for is dark fantasy.
Here’s the plot.
Lucy’s dad is abusive towards his wife (Lucy’s mother) until eventually she runs away, leaving behind Lucy and her baby brother Charlie. Lucy becomes the main care taker or the house and Charlie. Her father turn his abuse to her. She harbours immense hate for her mother, but at the same time idolises her for having the courage to get away from such a horrible place. When Lucy’s dad becomes violent towards the baby, Lucy has had enough, and packs up their stuff and suns away. She heads out in the woods behind her home with no idea where she’s going when a scraggly looking boy jumps out at them, scaring them. His name is Rowan and he’s run away too. He says he is the baby in a family of 11 children and nobody cares about him. Together they continue walking until they reach a log that blocks their path. They climb over it and although they are still in the woods, they look different. Somehow darker and all the trees look like they twist in even weirder ways.
*The plot gets a little mor vague from here on in, as I’ve only fully planned out the first part*
Basically, they’ve entered a magic realm, full of darkness and evil. The good characters of the land have been overtaken by an Evil Fairy Queen who came into the realm a few years ago. The evil fairy queen has small and withered wings that cannot fly, so she rides a broom, like a witch. She has turned all the good creatures (faires, goblins, wizards etc) into slaves. She has cut them off from all their wealth and had some locked up. When Lucy, Rowan and Charlie arrive, the creatures are convinced they’ve been sent to save their realm and get rid of the evil fairy queen. So they take on the quest. They meet a lot of obstacles and help along the way. In the end they defeat the evil queen by subduing her with music and giving her back her own heart, which she kept in a glass case. It turns out that the evil fairy queen is really Lucy’s mother. She didn’t abandon her children at all. One night she just had to get out of the house for a bit and wound up in the magic realm. Once you enter the realm, you become either good or bad, there’s nothing in between. What’s in your heart is brought to the surface. Lucy’s Mum’s heart was so black and full of hate (due to her abuse) at the time that as soon as she entered the realm, she turned evil. Lucy and Charlie stay in the realm to live with their mum, the GOOD fairy queen now. Rowan goes home to his family. After seeing the horrible way the creatures in the realm were treated, he decided his family wasn’t so bad.
That’s it basically. Sorry it’s so long. I’d love to hear what you thought of it. Also, names are just temporary at the moment - if you have any ideas, let me know. Thanks for all your answers.
@ AnteSavant: The entrance to the magic realm is not that far into the woods. Lucy and Charlie have not gone very far when Rowan joins them, and after that they don’t walk very long before they reach the log. Lucy’s mother went into the woods to hide from her husband who was really angry. He is standing at the back gate screaming at her. She was crying and ran. She planned to go back after he’d gone to bed.
Sounds interesting. I would give it a try if I saw it in the bookstore

the kids from the rough background that run away has been dead,buried,brought back to life, and buried again.same for the whole my family isn’t that bad thing.the fantasy stuff is just a way to mask that this story is so trite and unoriginal, and full of plot holes that make no sense; for example when leaving the house to blow off steam it makes 0 sense for the mother to decide oh hey lets randomly go deep into the forrest in the middle of the night no harm no foul can possibly come from that.

It sounds interesting. Many elements resemble other stories, but it’s still got a bit of refreshing originality. The only thing I would suggest is that, instead of subduing the evil fairy queen with music, I would make it more dramatic. Also, Rowan should stay with them as well.

How to defend yourself without getting screwed by the man?
If someone attack you with a knife, can you get thrown in jail or otherwise in trouble with the law if you stab him with a knife of your own?
Normally I would say no, because it’s self defense, but I have a friend who was in jail for a while and while there he met a guy who was attacked outside his apartment. He was going home one night and some drunk guys jumped him, and they all had knives. So the guy who was attacked, after getting beat and cut and, took out his own knife and messed those guys up. Now he, the guy who had to defend his own life, is in jail, AND he had to pay all the medical bills for the guys who attacked him, as well as his own medical bills. I don’t understand why he got that punishment. If he hadn’t defended himself that way he would be dead right now.
The reason I ask is I’m pretty sure this guy is going to be coming up to me pretty soon looking for a fight, and he always has a knife on him. I do as well, and I’m sure as hell not going to let anyone stab me, and I’m not going to call the cops. Calling police is for cowards, unless in very extreme circumstances. Do you think I’ll get screwed by the man for defending myself?

That doesn’t make sense to me. If someone is trying to kill you, why can you not kill them? Especially in this situation; it’s much easier to dodge an attack and stab them in the throat than it is to be attacked by someone and somehow get their weapon away from them. And even then, that won’t stop their attack; if someone is trying to kill you with a knife and they somehow lose that knife, they’ll simply continue the attack without it. The only option is to kill them before they kill you. There’s just so much red tape, the government traps everyone into paying them no matter what you do.
Because he went beyond self-defense and it became a revenge attack. He became their attacker.
If you just defend yourself (take the knife, or cause him to get cut)…AND STOP, you won’t get charged. Get mad and attack back beyond protection, just like the other guy, yes you will.

Do you think The princess and the frog was the last 2D art movie? I heard this from a friend.
I really hope not because Mulan, lion king, and etc showed how talented Disney was. I mean Ratatouille and all those Pixar movies also show great talent but I think the 2D art goes a long way.

I thought the Princess and the frog was one of the best recent Disney movies I have seen…much more like the quality of the older ones. Hopefully there will be more…it was very good. Judge by the older ones which many newer ones don’t even come close to…many of the talented artists left Disney…and took their talent with them….but this last one made me hopeful they may get better again.

This isn’t from Disney (Disney will be involved though), but "Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2" is on it’s way. They’re shooting for a 2012 release. It’ll be traditional animation with live action just like the original. Disney should release more traditional animation films, especially since "The Princess and the Frog" was so good. CGI movies are okay, but traditional animation movies feel more organic.

What is this red rash on my arms, cheeks and legs?
I am an extremely clean person but for about 3 years I have had a rash on my upper arms. It started as dry raised white patches on my arm that would itch. It will go away but then re-appear a week letter, about five months ago I used an acne face wash on my face (I don’t know why I used it I have never had acne) the next day I had a really bad rash on my cheeks and around the outside of my mouth. I immediately got rid of the face wash but I still get the rash on my face with dry flaky patches and a slight redness. Now I have little places on my legs that are bright red and very itchy and it all seems to get worse when I get out of the shower. I have tried changing washing powders, using sensitive skin body wash and soap, benedryl, cortisone cream, anti-itch cream, rash cream ETC. I don’t have the money to go to a doctor but it is getting worse and I don’t know what to do.
Sounds like Keratosis Pilaris or Eczema -
I’d use very gentle soaps and lotions.

It’s probably Eczema, some people just get itt and it’s not cureable. That’s the only thing i can think of if it’s not being allergic to anything.

Sounds a bit like psoriasis or eczema, both show similar symptoms.
If it’s psoriasis you need to make sure you moisturise well and particularly after bathing (this should be in tepid water and pat yourself dry quickly and slap on the moisturiser). There are quite a lot of other things you can do as it is treatable. You’ll find some pictures and quite a lot of info on the website below if you are interested.
